Our students have achieved a multitude of milestones recently and we are delighted to share these achievements in recognition of everyone’s hard work. From a First Solo to Instrument Rating Training Approvals, we are exceptionally proud of everyone!
Kate – FIR Training Approval

A heartfelt congratulations to one of our own, Instructor Kate, on passing not only her Instructor Rating Training Approval but her Multi-Engine Class Rating as well! Kate has been working with Instructor Kayla on her multi-engine rating, mastering asymmetric procedures and safety protocols in our Seminole PIE, while also working with Instructor Tim on the fundamentals of teaching instructors, conducting research, and presenting to adult learners. Kate is already putting her qualifications to excellent use, currently guiding three students through their Flight Instructor Rating. Well done, Kate, we are so proud of you!
Kayla – Instrument Rating Training Approval

Another of our high-achieving instructors, Kayla, deserves a huge congratulations for passing her Instrument Rating Training Approval. Kayla has been working hard towards this approval with Instructor Salah, and had a beautiful CAVOK day for the flight test - too bad she was under the hood! We very much look forward to supporting Kayla as she begins training Private and Command Instrument Rating students.
Marcus – First Solo

Congratulations to Marcus Gripton-Corbett who conducted his First Solo! Marcus and instructor Dan have been conducting their flights in our Cessna 152 KKB at 7am every week and this dedication has been made worthwhile, with an accomplished first solo flight! We are looking forward to seeing Marcus progress throughout the rest of his RPL.
Rebert – Recreational Pilot Licence
Congratulations to Reo for recently passing his RPL! Rebert (Reo) has been working consistently towards his RPL in the C152 with Instructor Aaron, regularly flying in the afternoons - which gave him lots of experience in more adverse conditions than morning flyers. Well done, Reo!

Peter – Recreational Pilot Licence
Well done Peter on recently passing his RPL. Peter has been juggling a lot between his study and work, and the birth of his beautiful baby girl Ellie!
Huge congratulations to Peter from all the team at SFT!
Benji Klein – Recreational Pilot Licence
Congratulations to Benji on recently achieving his RPL! Still in Year 11 at school, Benji has been working hard towards his goal of becoming a pilot alongside with Instructor Aaron over the past year, and alongside his dad, Nick. We look forward to seeing Benji progress through to PPL.
Dresden – Private Pilot Licence

Congratulations to Dresden on passing his PPL flight test recently. Dresden and examiner Sam took advantage of some beautiful weather and headed north of Sydney to carry out his test. We are looking forward to seeing Dresden continue through his hour building for his CPL. Well done Dresden!
Manoo – Private Pilot Licence

Congratulations to Manoo who passed his PPL flight test last month! Manoo and examiner Steve had a lovely flight up to Cessnock in near perfect conditions. We wish Manoo all the best as he begins his journey as a newly licenced private pilot!
Ashwin – RPL Navigation and CTA endorsement
Well done to Ashwin on recently achieving his RPL Navigation and Controlled Airspace endorsements! These endorsements allow Ashwin to fly anywhere in Australia with passengers on board, and into controlled airspace to do flights such as a Harbour Scenic or fly into aerodromes like Canberra or Coffs Harbour.
Deepin – Grade 2 Instructor Rating
Congratulations to Deepin on passing his Grade 2 Flight Instructor upgrade with us! Deepin has been volunteering with the Royal Aero Club NSW out at Camden and completed his Grade 2 training at SFT. He is now able to send students on their First Solo flight and sign off theory examination Knowledge Deficiency Reports (KDR’s). We wish Deepin the best of luck with his new rating and in supporting the next generation of young pilots as they achieve their goals.
Brady – Retractable Undercarriage (RU) and Manual Propeller Pitch Control (MPPC)
Congratulations to Brady who recently achieved his Design Feature endorsements for both Retractable Undercarriage (RU) and Manual Propeller Pitch Control (MPPC)! Brady has been flying the Cessna 182 with Instructor Kayla, completing an initial endorsement in the aeroplane as well as training for abnormal and emergency procedures relating to these new features. On their check flight, they took a lovely scenic trip down the coast to Moruya and saw the beautiful Southern NSW coastline.
Brad – Instrument Rating Training Approval
Well done to Brad on recently achieving his Instrument Rating Training Approval! Brad currently works for Virgin as a 737 Captain and is also a very accomplished aerobatic pilot. Brad wanted to keep a hand in the General Aviation industry, so decided to renew his Instructor Rating and obtain the Instrument Rating Training Approval so he can train new instrument rated pilots.
