Design Feature Training

Aircraft manufacturers have varied the design of modern aircraft to gain advantage in the operation of some aircraft. This can add new features to the basic aircraft. This also increases the complexity of an aircraft to achieve a gain (example: less drag).

Two common features are:

  • Retractable Undercarriage/Gear

  • Manual Propeller Pitch Control (sometimes referred to as ‘constant speed’ propeller)
